Geeky Tiki

Yet, shit!
How cool.

A fracking Tiki house right on the frickin' ocean.

Dude, is that a chimney?

Split

Contemporary?

Split-level?

I don't know what this is, but I adore the angles of the roof -- how they face off, instead of connecting.

The door, which I didn't really get very well in the shot, is massive, all dark wood and impressive.

We built this city...

Yes. That's a cop in the front door.
No, that's not a real person. At least, I don't think so. Drove by it multiple times and he never moved.

This one just screams 1980's and Don Johnson and parachute pants.

Check out the glass blocks, stark white exterior, grid lines and that wavey purple accent that just pops against all the other horizontal ones.

Ireland's Inn

This just straight up pisses me off.

Ye ol Ireland's Inn has been a Lauderale landmark for decades. Beloved by the family of Sunshine, Lariza & Matt among many others.

Looks like shit now, of course.
A developer has grand plans for tearing it down. Not like Florida real estate is exactly gang busters right now.

But look past the run-down. That flip up of the concrete-covering providing shelter from the rain (with a little sass) at the main enterance. The shark's teeth balconies. That crazy-ass "I" still remaining among fallen letters.

A little love, I tell ya. All it needs. Not every hotel has to be super-luxury, pricey and gigantic. Or new. (Jus' sayin')

Posh Slums on the Ocean

Doesn't look like anyone actually lives here.
Or, maybe anyone who uses a car.
Oceanfront property off A1A.

Glass Blocks Rawk

Glass blocks are so very 80's.
This one's over in that kick-ass nook back off A1A and Sunrise Boulevard near The Parrot.

Lauderdale Office

Off Oakland Park Boulevard, east of Federal Highway.
At night. (Duh.) May 2008.
Looks modern, but not nec. Modern with the big M.
